In Isaiah 9 we read: "and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace". He is also called Emmanuel, Lord, Jesus, Christ, Master, Son of God, Son of man. We could fill pages with glorious names and titles for the blessed person of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Scriptures also speak of the beautiful name by which we are called (1 Peter 4:16), of the worthy name by which we are called (James 2:7). We bear his name. This is most likely an allusion to the name Christian which means "of Christ". Christian is a common surname in French. Can you be called Christian? Could you bear other names like the name Eusebius taken from the Greek which means godly, pious? Mr. Castro, the leader of Cuba also has a nice surname, Fidel, which means faithful. Could you be called "Fidel"? The surname Gregory comes from the Greek also and means "on the watch, vigilant (as in 1 Peter 5:8)"; could we call you "Gregory". When I was born, my parents called me, according to tradition, by four surnames which were Joseph Alphonse Raymond Michel; I would that, with the Lord's help, I could also be called Christian Eusebius Fidel Gregory; would you not like that also!
