Meditation number 71

Acces Privileges

In Esther 5:1-3, queen Esther presents herself before king Ahasuerus, the powerful monarch which reigned over 127 provinces from India to Ethiopia. He had power of life and death over his subjects(4-11). Esther however found favor before his face, he held out the golden sceptre to her, and she drew near and touched to top of it, the king asking her what her request was, and assuring her that though it be half the kingdom it was to be granted to her. She opnly asked for what was on her heart. We have nothing to envy to Esther. When we draw near with confidence to the throne of grâce, do we realise the greatness of the One to Whom we have acces and before Who we have full liberty to present our requests? He reigns over the whole universe and every atom of matter in it. Do we realize the great favor into which we stand before Him (Romans 5:2, Eph. 1:6) incomparably greater than Esther’s before Ahasuerus. The golden scepter is not necessary for we have free acces, full acces, in the name of Jesus, the One the Father delights to honor (John 16 :23-27), our beloved Saviour being Himself at the right hand of God, appearing there before His face for us (Heb. 9 :24). No request is ignored, small or great; God our Father undertakes according to his perfect wisdom for the needs of His children (Phil. 4:6-7). Let us therefore draw near in full assurance!
