Meditation number 45

Gleanings on trials

Don't fear opposition; the kite only gets up there when there is enough wind. (1 Pet. 3:14-15)

True security is not the absence of danger but the presence of the Lord in the midst of danger. (Ps. 23:4)

Gods does not promise to always keep us from trouble but to keep us through trouble. (John 16:33)

He that follows the path of the cross will not be kept from trials or difficulties, nor be kept from the infinite and eternal gain that comes with them. (2 Cor. 4:17-18)

I sometimes bear the greater trials with more patience and faithfulness than the petty every day setbacks. In the former, I bring my load to the Lord while in the latter I try, without success, to bear them alone. (John 15:5)

It is trying to serve God without seeing any tangible results. Here again Christ is the perfect example for us. (Is. 49:4, Phil 2:5-11, Is. 53:11)
